The Agia Marina is by far the most popular tourist area of Aegina.  It is situated at 13 km. east of the main port. Clear water, sandy beach, pine forest and night life, attracting a huge number of tourists, both from Greece and the rest of the world.

Like the beautiful and popular beach, there are also some very interesting sites that should be visited by all tourists interested in history and more. One such site is the Temple of Aphaia, which was built of limestone, and has remained in very good condition for years. The temple was built on a hill 4 km. in the Northern part of the resort.

This temple, along with two other famous temples in Greece - PARTHENON the Acropolis in Athens, and the Sounion temple Posiedon - were built so that they form an equilateral triangle. In the past, these three old temples had visual contact between them so they could record and inform the population in case of an enemy attack or a natural disaster. 4 km north of the resort there is the Monastery of St. Nectarie.

The picturesque chapel of Agia Marina, which gave the name of the village, is also a place worth visiting.
For water sports lovers, paradise can be found on the sandy beach of Agia Marina, which is ideal for surfing and many other sport activities.

In Agia Marina there are many restaurants and taverns, cafes and bars where you can enjoy tasty meals, drinks and a dance or two. There are also bars and pubs where you can listen to greek music, so that you can experience an authentic "Greek night".

If you are in Aegina on July 17, do not miss the traditional religious festival, from Agia Marina, music, dance and good vibes.
